We have 25 years experience in cleaning and grading LP's. Our LP's are machine-cleaned using the VPI Model # HW-17F, and all are conservatively visually graded. Here's a brief description of how we grade our records:
- (SS) Still Sealed/New
- (M) Mint; Visually Perfect
- (NM) Near Mint/Near Perfect; May have a tiny imperfection
- (VG++) Minimum of imperfections
- (VG+) Slight scuffs or very light wear that does not affect play
- (VG) Very Good. Some surface noise, slight groove wear or light scratches
- (G) Good; Surface noise, scratches, visible groove wear. Still, it shouldn't skip.
- (P) Poor; Bad shape.
Of course, the most accurate grading is done by play-grading, however, the time factor makes it impossible for us to thoroughly (and accurately) play-grade all of our records. However, many times, the grade of an LP may actually be higher when played. This is especially true of many '50s and '60s LP's.
Keep in mind that we guarantee all of our records for ten days upon your receipt of the LP. If our grading is inaccurate or simply not equivalent to your standards, please feel free to return the album for credit towards another purchase.
